(1) If a candidate for the election system who is elected first wants to withdraw his name from the list of candidates, he may withdraw his name by giving a written notice to the election officer within the time specified in sub-section (2) of section 7.
(2) According to sub-section (1), the candidate himself or his representative shall file the notice of withdrawal of name.
(3) After the notice of withdrawal of name as per sub-section (1) has been filed with the election officer, such notice cannot be canceled or withdrawn.
(4) If the election officer is satisfied about the information filed under sub-section (1) or (2), the name of such candidate shall be removed from the list of candidates. The Election Officer shall immediately publish the notice that the name has been removed in his office.
(5) In order to provide a formal letter of nomination of a candidate on behalf of a party, if the official appointed according to sub-section (1) of section 19 withdraws the name of any candidate who has nominated on behalf of such party and sends it in writing to the election officer within the time specified under sub-section (2) of section 7, he shall be considered as a candidate. will not be maintained.
